Kiss Your Feet
John Mark McMillan
The Song Inside the Sounds of Breaking Down
Tuning - Dadgbd
The main acoustic riff goes something like this:
Intro/Verses/Bridge:
d|---12------------12--------------------|
B|---12------------12--------------------|
G|---12--strum-----12----strum-----------|
D|---12------------12--------------------|
A|-12------------10----------------------|
D|-12------------10----------------------|
It sounds like 12th fret harmonics on the recording, but I don’t have that kind of
dexterity (I think it’s two guitars) so I just play it normally and it sounds just about the same.
VERSE 1
I dreamed I kissed your feet
Between the cigarette butts
On the side of fourteenth street
I got down on my hands and my knees
With an alabaster jar
VERSE 2
I dreamed I'd bleed with your praises
Just to make the world
Smell like your grace again
I got down on my hands and my knees again
CHORUS
G Am
And I'm crawling on the floor
Cmaj7(?)
Just to find you now
G Am Cmaj7(?)
To tell you how I feel I'm falling all over myself
(SEE CHORDS BELOW)
Good morning brokeness
You know you've cut me to the bone
Like one of those days in the middle of the winter
The kind that you can't run away from
And we've been here for so long
But I found a way to appease you
Inside this alabaster jar
And I'm crawling on the floor
Just to find you now
To tell you how I feel I'm falling all over myself
BRIDGE
And all my afflictions
There only light ones anyway now
CHORDS
These are merely suggestions on how to play the chords for the chorus. It sounds like
he really just plays the bass notes while the harmonics are still being plucked, but in a
solo setting that’s kind of impossible…
G - D A D G B d
5 5 0 0 0 0
Am - D A D G B d
7 7 5 0 0 0
Cmaj7(?) - D A D G B d

Well that's all there is too it, it seems! Plese submit any corrections as I just want
this beautiful song to be played as accurately as possible!
In Christ Alone...
