Theme from Mozart Sonata No. 11 in A Major, K.331
transcribed for guitar by Geoff M. Phillips
Well, let's see here....I transposed the piece from the original key above to
D Major to make it easier to play on the guitar. I have tried to stick as
close to the original piano score as possible, and the dropped D tuning was
added to enhance the upward bass movement of the last few measures. This is
the primary theme from the sonata's first movement, which is a set of
variations based on this theme. I will probably transcribe some of the
variations, let me know which one's you would like to see. Repeat each
section once.
Please, please, listen to the midi file to get an idea of what is expected
of the rhythm and dynamics. Connect the notes as much as possible and try not
to screw it up. It isn't that hard to play, and its fun. Listen to a live
performance on the piano to get an idea.
Let me know what you think. Have fun!
