'Hey Man Nice Shot' - Filter
from the album 'Short Bus'
dropped-D tuning (tune your low E string down to D)
verse riff (could be a keyboard but you can simulate with
palm muting and tinny distortion) - note: i haven't included
the exact amount of notes picked; listen to song for that..

********* how it all goes together ***********
(1st verse: no major guitar parts, just some
background feedback...)
i wish i would have met you
now its a little late
what you could have taught me
i could have saved some face
they think that your (?) was all wrong
for the most part they're right
but look how they all got strong
thats why i say hey man nice shot
(start playing verse riff here...)
good shot man
thats why i say hey man nice shot
good shot man
(chorus: play chorus chords over these lyrics...)
hey man has gone
hey man have fun
nice shot man
(2nd verse: feedback again...)
now that the smokes gone
and the air is all clear
those who were right here
had a new kind of fear
you'd fight and you were right
but they were just too strong
they stick it in your face
and let you smell what they consider wrong
thats why i say hey man nice shot
(start playing verse riff again here...)
good shot man
thats why i say hey man nice shot
good shot man
(chorus: play chorus chords over these lyrics - play
twice this time...)
hey man has gone
hey man have fun
nice shot man
(one guitar plays chorus chords while 2nd one plays the
ending riff over the following repeated lyrics...)
i wish i would have met you

This is a hell of a band, even though they really are just two guys.
If you like Helmet, NIN, and Tool, then this is a must have cd.
If you would like any other Filter songs lemme know, I'll figure it
out and post the tab. Enjoy, this is a real song...
Play in Dropped D tuning, loud, a lot of effects and feedback.
INTRO/VERSE:
Bass line and guitar w/effects & echo:
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-o-------------------------------------------------------------o-|
D|-o-------------------------------------------------------------o-|
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-6-6-5-5-3-3---|
Play around with the above riff, it's the right notes, but probably
not the right timing, just mess with it it's pretty straight for-
ward on the recording. The are up/down picking throughout this part.
Chorus/Loud Parts:
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-o-------------------------------------------------------------o-|
D|-o-------------------------------------------------------------o-|
A|---10h12--10h12--10p9--10p9--5h7--5h7--5p3--5p3------------------|
D|---10h12--10h12--10p9--10p9--5h7--5h7--5p3--5p3------------------|
Again this isn't the right timing or amount of times the parts are
actually played. But I find tabbing it all out repetitive and point-
less.
Solo/Noise:
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
D|------10--12----10--9-----10--12----10--9----5--7----5--4--------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
I'm not sure if this is totally right, but they have a lot of effects
and noise so play with this and improvise...
Lyrics:
I wish I would've met you
now it's a little late
what you would've taught me
I could have saved some face
they think that your early ending
was all wrong
for the most part they're right
but look how they all got strong
that's why I say hey man nice shot.
what a good shot man
a man
has gun
hey man
have fun
nice shot
now that the smoke's gone
and the air is all clear
those who were right there
got a new kind of fear
you'd fight and you were right
but they were just too strong
they'd stick it in your face
and let you smell what they consider wrong
that's why I say hey man nice shot
what a good shot man
a man
has gun
hey man
have fun
nice shot.
I wish I would have met you
I wish I would have met you
I'd say
nice shot.
