Anything For A Prophet - The When
I've only heard this one on a CD, I've never seen them play it live
but it's one of my favourites, I love the refrences to legends.
He sings between the guitar rift not over it. The lines without singing
have a second guitar playing in the gap.

..........................................
Once upon a time we walked the road.
Never knew which way the wind would blow.
But now it seems the roads have all been paved.
With red brick tombs instead of caves.
...........................................
...........................................
The people gathered under star lit skies.
To hear the tambourine man's cries.
The life he knew it seems we lost it.
I'd do anything for a prophet.

And so I keep on searching. I turn the radio on.
I said I keep on searching. They play the same old song.
And so I keep on searching. I'm searching for a prophet.
I said I keep on searching. I'm searching for a prophet.
Said I'd do anything. Anything for a prophet.
Anything for a prophet. Let's break it down now.
VERSE 2
......................................
......................................
The nowhere man imagined peace.
Caught in the rhy now he's deceased.
To little to late our time has passed.
We've strayed to far now, from the path.
.......................................
.......................................
A heart shaped box that's barely cold.
A message broken down and sold.
They find a wagon and jump on it.
I'd do anything for a prophet.

CHORUS
VERSE 3
........................................
........................................
He sang one love with a dreadlock crown.
And a halo of smoke that choked him down.
Our oceans wide, our oceans deep.
We've crossed them all, a plague unleashed.
........................................
........................................
I want a melody, a means, a message.
Instead of random rifts and empty guesses.
I'll hang my neck out, noose upon it.
I'd do anything for a prophet.
........................................
